Education / Programs:
This committee drives the content of the monthly membership meetings. This committee also identifies speakers and topics for the various member meetings. Member meetings are typically held the third Thursday of the month and include breakfast/lunch and a keynote speaker on a topic relative to running a manufacturing business in today’s culture. Typically these meetings are held during the months of: January, March, May, June, September and November.
This committee is responsible for monitoring legislative activities that impact members and notifying members through legislative updates in the Scratchpad and via email. Members of this committee are involved with the Manufacturing Coalition and other grass roots lobbying opportunities made available from time to time.
This committee plans special events such as Golden Gloves, Golf, IMTS and other events that may occur from time to time. Duties include the development of marketing and promotional materials, logistical planning and fund-raising.
The Publications Committee of the MPMA is made of members who volunteer their time to help guide the editorial direction of the magazine. The editor-in-chief and Publications Committee members establish editorial themes for Precision Manufacturing Journal, which is published six times per year. The Journal is the only authorized regular publication of the MPMA.
The magazine has been recognized for excellence in magazine publishing with the following awards: Association TRENDS 2009, 2010; American Graphic Design Award 2010, 2014; MMPA Publishing Excellence Award 2014, 2015, 2016; and MSAE Award of Excellence 2008, 2010.
